Baby Bjorn Toilet Trainer featured in Parents Magz.
There are so many toilet seats out on the market and when you are trying to toilet train your little one I think you buy everyone on the market to see which one they prefer. When I was training my son, he wanted nothing to do with a potty chair. He only liked the toilet trainer that fit nicely in the big potty and he felt so “grown up” when using it. I can tell you first hand since I bought so many seats on the market that the Baby Bjorn Toilet Trainer is hands down the best toilet seat for toddlers. It fits securely to the toilet seat with no wiggling when the child sits on it, the opening isn’t wide which makes it feel secure and it’s designed with a splash proof-angled deflector. There is a built in handle so that the child can fit the seat by him or herself without difficulty but I like using it to hand on the wall next to the potty. I just stuck a 3M hook up and it hangs perfectly. I can see why Parents Magazine featured the Baby Bjorn Toilet Trainer in their, It’s Potty Time article.

Back to school!

In Colorado kids go back to school in the middle of August so back to school shopping is in full swing here. I am real excited that the ever popular Fleurville Kids Messenger has come out in two new colors called, Green Cocoa Stripe and Black World Flag. Like all Fleurville products the Kid’s Messenger is PVC-free, Teflon-free, and lead free which makes it so environmentally friendly. Celebrity children have been seen using the Fleurville Kids Messenger like, James Broderick and Kim Raver’s son, Luke. It’s a convertible messenger that has backpack straps that can stow away when not in use. Besides having two outside side pockets for water bottles, a pencil/pen organizer, and a zippered mesh pocket inside, it comes with a removable insulated lunch bag.

Melissa and Doug Floor Easel
My son and daughter have so many Melissa and Doug toys including their deluxe floor standing wooden easel. This easel is the perfect height for little ones to create masterpieces. This art easel is double-sided, one side features a chalk board and the other side a dry erase-board. With adjustable heights it also includes a locking paper roll holder, a child-safe paper cutter, four clips, and a plastic tray on each side for easy-reach art supplies (not included) and easy-clean storage. The floor easel folds up easily so we can store it between a book case and the wall.

Josh Holloway
Josh Holloway and his wife Yessica were spotted taking a stroll at the West Hollywood Park with their 11 week old daughter, Java. Yessica wears Java in a Baby Bjorn Baby Carrier Original Spirit in Green Energy. This is not the first time a celebrity has been spotted using the Baby Bjorn Baby Carrier Original Spirit. Horatio, Jane’s “manny” used this baby carrier in Orange Flame while filming In The Motherhood. The colors Baby Bjorn offer in Original Spirit are fun colors and many can be used for either a boy or a girl.

Sneaky Chef
The other day I posted Jessica Seinfeld showing up to Central Park to support The Baby Buggy Organization which she founded. It got me thinking about how much I love her cookbook, Deceptively Delicious. My son eats a lot of veg’s but my 2 year old daughter won’t touch any of it so I need to be a sneaky chef. I want meal time to be a happy experience sitting around the table not a stressful power struggle. I read cookbooks like it’s an award winning novel. Deceptively Delicious gives you lots of great advice on how to change habits through loving deception, tips on pureeing your veg’s ahead of time, advice on nutrition and wonderful realistic recipes that kids would eat. Throughout the book she puts cute little quotes from her kids and husband, Jerry Seinfeld. Since I love making deserts my two favorite recipes from this cookbook are the blueberry oatmeal bars which are made with pureed spinach and the oatmeal raisin cookies that have banana puree and zucchini puree in it.

Baby Buggy Bedtime Bash

Baby Buggy is a 501 c 3 Accredited Charity founded in 2001, is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing New York City’s families in need with essential equipment, clothing, and products for their infants and young children. They recently had their Baby Buggy Bash held at New York City’s Central Park. A lot of celebrities turned out to support this organization and talked about how they get their little ones off to bed. Founder and President of the board, Jessica Seinfeld said she’s very strict but her husband, Jerry is a softie when it comes to bedtime. Other celebrities like Christy Turlington said, “It’s kind of pandemonium.” Hugh Jackman runs around the house with his kids then does bath and story time and Paulina Porizkova reads her kids a book and then lays in bed with them until they fell asleep. Many of my friends say I am very strict with bedtime. We are upstairs at 6 o’clock for bath, one quite show on mommy and daddy’s bed with milk and snack and then books and bed at 7. My kids look forward to their nightly routine and it makes going to bed easier.

In the June Parenting magazine there is an artical called Out & About on page 60. It talks about 5 places you can bring your baby and make it stress-free. The key to making it less stressful is being organized. Parenting moms tested a few products and reviewed the Busy Bee Backpack by the Bumble Collection. The Trendy Tote offers this diaper bag. The bag is quilted with bess and is water and stain resistant and machine washable. A snack bag is included that fits inside the diaper bag so it frees up your arms running after your little one. Hello my Trendy Mommies
I haven’t written on my blog for the whole month of May and I missed chatting. I got this really bad cold with a cough that sounded like I was trying to cough up a lung. One morning making breakfast for the kids I had this coughing fit and I thought I pulled a rib muscle. As weeks went on my side hurt more and more to where it hurt when I took a breath, sit, lift my right arm and any other move you can think of. The pain got so bad it felt worse than when I had my c-section. I went to the doctor and I found out that I fractured my rib! Not good when you have to take care of a 2 and 5 year old. The doctor said there wasn’t anything I could do about it but rest and it would heal itself in six weeks. Well, six weeks came and went and I have to say I am finally feeling back to normal. My husband continues to remind me that next time I need to use some cough medicine.
